<p>SDM using multicore fibers has the potential to increase the bandwidth density of optical links as well as to improve performance of sensing systems including 3D shape sensing and fiber optic gyroscopes. These applications are advanced by the low insertion and return loss, wide bandwidth, passive add-drop multiplexer demonstrated here.</p>
