Fiber Optic Analysis of Different Materials and Geometry for Sensor Application

In this paper, we analyze optical waveguides for creating optomechanical sensors. We investigate to find the most optimal geometry and material by simulating the system through various scenarios. We test the light guide against Frustrated Total Internal Reflection(FTIR), compression and bending. We run simulations for light guides for varying overlaps, types of cladding, size of cladding, and angle of bending. The simulation has been done on COMSOL’s Ray Tracing module.
