A diode-end-pumped continuous wave single-frequency Nd:GdVO4 laser with a laser-medium-prism design is reported with which the stabilization of the laser can be improved. A general super-Gaussian beam model is developed to optimizing the theoretical accuracy. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
