Surface acoustic wave Brillouin scattering in thin-film lithium niobate waveguides

We observed the first-ever Brillouin scattering in thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) waveguides. The z-cut TFLN waveguide, at 20° rotation angle, achieves a remarkable 84.9 m-1W-1 Brillouin gain coefficient, facilitated by 7.88 GHz surface acoustic waves.
