Theoretical analysis of free space propagation characteristics of a circular optical mode emitted by a square dielectric waveguide

The free space propagation characteristics of a circular optical mode emitted by a square shape cross section dielectric waveguide is theoretically analyzed. Accurate numerical solutions are obtained and compared with Gaussian beams.
